Pinar Giray is an ink and watercolour artist whose work blends the delicate beauty of nature with the whimsical and unexpected. Her practice ranges from serene landscapes to intricate drawings of birds, flowers, and imaginative forms, often balancing precision with a sense of quiet playfulness.
Born in Ankara and raised in Istanbul, Pinar moved to Canada during her first year of university. While raising a family, she maintained a consistent artistic practice, continuing to draw and develop her visual language.
From 1998 to 2003, she studied at the Visual Arts Centre in Montreal, where she was mentored by Heather Midori Yamada, Elisabeth Galante, and Jose Duclos. In 2012, she further developed her practice through an intensive watercolour workshop with Pierre Tougas.
Pinar held a solo exhibition in Istanbul in 2007, and her work is held in private collections in Canada and Turkey. She currently lives and works in Montreal, continuing her practice from her home studio.
